Story of the Month
Rat’s Reckless Time

Once upon a time there was a rat and it had it’s hole in the wall that it always went to, and one time it went in there and it was stinkier than usual, then it saw that there was a fat cat living in it, and he didn’t know what to do, so he went around and did what he usually did in there, like the cleaning up, like the getting cheese, building his place bigger, and of course, the eating. But when he had his food sitting on the table, he heard some moving around in the living room of his little hole and the cat ate all of his dinner! So he gathered up some friends to get it out and they pushed and pushed on the cat to try and get it out. So they did get it out.

One day I walked by a big poster that said: Contest Tonight At 6:30 pm Dress contest: I ran home and got dressed because it was 6:00pm. I ran to the contest. There were girls dressed up in pretty pink dresses. Then the judge said: '' First prize goes to Olivia Border.'' That was me! I could not believe my ears! What a happy day!

Katie's Big bake-off

One day,

Katie was walking down the street.
She came upon a poster that said: "Big bake-off Saturday.
Have All of your ingredients ready by Saturday. Bake-off begins
at 11:00 a.m. at the auditorium. To sign up, come to the auditorium
Friday by 5:00 p.m." . So Katie decided to sign up right away. After
5:00p.m. on Friday, Katie got herself ready and went to the grocery store
to buy her ingredients. So Saturday came, and Katie was as ready
as she ever was going to be- this was it- her one chance to show the world
what a wonderful cook she was. At the bake-off, Katie baked Vanilla
doggie cakes with raspberry cream glaze. Along with that,
Katie baked Taco shells {her favorite} with meaty tomato sauce
baked until crispy and browned. And finally, for the grand finale,
she baked Katie's Grand Lasagna. It was a tremendous
hit with the judges and Katie won 1st place! She had never been
so happy. She finally had shown the world that she was the
best cook ever!

Special’s Dream Hat

On one sunny day, Special Bunny went out to get the news paper. He saw an ad for Tom’s Cloths Shop. The ad was for a light green top hat with a red feather on the side, for only $9.99
A BIG SALE he thought to himself. “I got to get there right away!” So he put on his boots and hopped his way down to Tom’s Clothes Shop. He got there and entered, a guy came out from the back. “Hi, my name is Tom, let me know if there is anything I can help you with.”
“Yes, there is one thing.” Special replied.
“Oh.”
“I would like that light green top hat with the red feather.”
“Oh yes, we have one more left.”
So Special got his dream hat and left.

Crust and the Giant Piece of Grass

One day our cat Crust saw in the Kitty News Paper about a giant piece of grass. It was where cats had to go on a journey to find that piece of grass. So he thought to himself that he would go on that journey. So while my Dad was cleaning the litter box, Crust went out the basement door while no one was looking and left with his bag of kitty treats. So after 3 days he came up on a hill and there was that giant piece of grass. His eyes were as big as 25cent pieces. He pulled it out of the ground and took it to the kitty mayor, and said, “I found, I found!” The kitty mayor said, “Come, Mr. Crust, pick out your prize.” He had a choice to pick a kitty train ticket or a treat. He said to himself, “I already have a bag of treats and I miss my family so I will get the train ticket.” So he got that train ticket and went home, and everyone was happy to see him.

Once upon a time Princess Olivia went for a walk down the road and she saw a kitten! It was so skinny, she had to do something, so she took the kitten home to her palace and she asked the maid if she could find something for the kitten to eat. While she was gone Olivia named the kitten Alice. A few weeks later she didn’t have food for the kitten so one day she found a owner for the kitten! J It was a old lady who needed her. What a happy kitten!

Katie's Dream Dress by Erin Farr
One day, Katie was looking at a sale paper for The Dress Shop. While she was happily looking through it, she came across a dress. It was soft pink with cream flowers all over and a baby blue sash that tied in the back. It was the prettiest dress she had ever seen! So she said to herself, “I think I’ll go to The Dress Shop right now and see it they have that dress!” So Katie got dressed, put on some lipstick and rouge and headed out the door. When Katie got there she went inside. After entering she started looking around at the dresses. And then there stood the dream dress! Katie said, “There it is! My dream dress!” As a store employee walked by Katie asked her, “How much is that dress over there?” The employee replied, “16.95 plus tax.” Katie said, “I’ll take it please.” So the employee removed it from the stand and took it to the counter to ring it up. After Katie had paid for it she went home and enjoyed her dress.
